A quick Google search reveals 97,600,000 results to the question; What is a preacher? As overwhelming as this may be, most ministers of the Gospel experience the same plethora of voices, inputs, opinions, ideas, and suggestions in their own lives to this same question. We find that the underlying problem with preaching is that we have neglected to ask the inventor of preaching what exactly preaching is meant to be.
In 2 Timothy 4:2 (above) we read of Paul (a seasoned preacher) informing Timothy (a young preacher) what exactly a minister should preach; The Word. This word translated as word found here and over 330 times elsewhere in the New Testament is the word Logos. Being a preacher is answering the desire and calling of God to proclaim, teach, preach, study, and exhort; Logos. While many ministers of our day have used this platform as a ladder to fame, a step to success, or an avenue to authority- preaching was never intended to be about the man. In fact, Paul goes as far as to state that preaching (that which a preacher does) is foolishness used by God, despite the man.
We are calling Men of God, who have been chosen for such a time as this to rise to the charge given by Paul to; Preach The Word. May we forsake our aspirations in life and aim towards the mark of the high calling of Christ. For our families, our faith, our congregations, and the world around us may we each leave behind; A Logos Legacy.
As a ministry the Logos Legacy desires to protect, prioritize, and preach The Word of God for future generations.
